Queenscourt's Stark Trekk 2019
We're really looking forward to hosting this superb event, once again, for Queenscourt Hospice in Southport.
With Spring just around the corner, you may feel that it’s time to dust off your walking shoes and get active. And if you’re looking for an opportunity to have some fun, meet like-minded people and raise money for a good cause in the process, then the Queenscourt Hospice Star Trekk is the perfect event to sign up for.
Now in its 13th year, Star Trekk has become a flagship event in the Queenscourt Hospice calendar. Thousands of people have joined the fundraising throngs taking part each year and, together, they have helped to raise a staggering £750,000 for our charity. This represents a vital source of income for Queenscourt Hospice, money that enables us to provide much-needed support and specialist palliative care services to the Southport, Formby and West Lancashire communities.
For many of our Trekkers, who walk in memory of a loved one or because Queenscourt Hospice has supported them in their hour of need, the event has a personal meaning but there are also plenty of participants who sign-up simply to enjoy the vibrant evening atmosphere and to show their support for the local hospice. Whatever the motivation, we’re enormously grateful to anyone who gives up their time to get walking for our cause.
Designed to be as inclusive as possible, Star Trekk can be taken at your own pace. The event is all about having fun and is open to everyone. You can walk the 10K route solo, or perhaps with family and friends, or your exercise class or work colleagues, the choice is yours…but you’ll never be on your own. Last year, hundreds of Trekkers came together to share this fantastic experience and support each other, and we’re certain that 2019’s event will be just as popular.
Now is a great time to sign-up to Star Trekk 2019, which takes place on Friday the 17th of May in Southport. The evening starts at Casablanca, Southport Pleasureland where you can enjoy the fun, festive vibe and pre-Trekk entertainment before setting off on the walk at 8.30pm. The route, which gives a whole new, night-time perspective on Southport takes Trekkers past Queenscourt Hospice where our lights of love will be shining out, before returning through Birkdale Village.
As well as the unbeatable sense of pride and comradery that comes with taking part in the event, all of our Trekkers receive a special Star Trekk t-shirt and medal. And this year we are delighted to have the support of Everlast Fitness Club Southport, who will offer a free guest pass to all participants, along with the opportunity to sign up for ‘Pro Membership’ without having to pay a joining fee, providing they do it before the 31st March 2019.
Star Trekk really is a night to remember and, with an early bird entry offer now available, the sooner you sign-up the better!
